Why Freshies?

Only 7.5% of the U.S. population participates in at least one snowsport each year.*

Freshies will encourage non-snowsport participants to learn to ski/ride, or to visit mountain resorts for their other attractions. Plus, Freshies will boost current skier and rider visits to resorts they haven’t yet tried.

Our goal is to position Vermont and Canada as a destination for ski and ride vacations, driving more dollars to resorts and surrounding businesses.

54% of snowsport participants have household incomes of more than $75,000.*

Approximately 83% of current skiers picked up the sport when they were young, and 77% report they are still skiing with their families.**
